University students in software development

#career #softwaredevelopment #labtour #pizza

These were some of the buzzwords we used to attract the students of Budapest's two largest universities, BME and Óbuda University, to our open days at the end of April.

We had two rewarding and productive days, as planned, with a good number of students turning up. Over the course of two days, approximately 100 students visited our building.

For years, we have been organizing visits to the company for students as part of evoUni project, as it plays an important role not only in raising the visibility of evosoft but also in recruiting more students with genuinely good skills and knowledge. We’ve also received a lot of positive feedback from them. They found our presentations useful, gained insight into the practical side of software development, and better understood the work of a software developer or tester in an agile, multinational environment. They were pleasantly surprised to see the wide range of professional fields and projects where they can find employment with their qualifications, particularly in friendly and informal teams, working on market-leading software.

Our company maintains close relations with both BME and Óbuda University. Thanks to the commitment of our colleagues, we have established multiple educational and strategic cooperation partnerships with these institutions. During our presentations, we are often asked about the work we do and the working environment, but you can only truly experience it here with us.

Many students have already enquired about and applied for our current vacancies here on-site.

We hope to welcome many of them as new colleagues in the near future. We also encourage all BME students to participate in the BME-evosoft dual training programme, which is announced every semester.
